ALL SALES ARE FINAL. TopCoder is a digital service delivered instantly upon purchase. Because interview credits are consumed by real-time AI inference, transcription, and compute costs that we incur on your behalf, we do not offer refunds, partial refunds, or credit reversals except where required by applicable law.
1.Scope
This Refund Policy applies to all purchases made through topcoder.app, the TopCoder macOS application, and any related storefronts. By completing a purchase, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by this Policy.
2.No Refunds
All purchases of interview credits, BYOK activations, and any other digital goods or services offered by TopCoder are final and non-refundable. This includes, without limitation:
- Unused interview credits
- Partially used interview credits or sessions
- Credits that expire (where applicable)
- Accidental or duplicate purchases
- Change of mind, dissatisfaction, or non-use
- Inability to pass an interview or achieve a desired outcome
3.Why We Don't Offer Refunds
TopCoder is a digital service. From the moment you purchase credits, we incur real-time, non-recoverable costs:
- AI inference costs (OpenAI, Anthropic, and other model providers)
- Audio transcription costs (Deepgram)
- Vector database and infrastructure costs
- Payment processing fees charged by Stripe and card networks
These costs are locked in at the time of purchase or upon first use and cannot be reversed.
4.Exceptions Required by Law
Nothing in this Policy overrides non-waivable rights you may have under the consumer-protection laws of your jurisdiction. In particular:
- European Union / United Kingdom customers: You generally have the right to a 14-day cooling-off period for digital purchases. However, by proceeding with checkout and clicking the acceptance checkbox, you expressly waive this right and consent to immediate delivery of the digital service, after which the right of withdrawal no longer applies.
- Customers in other jurisdictions: Where local law mandates a refund right that cannot be waived, we will honor it to the extent required.
5.Discretionary Exceptions
In rare cases, we may at our sole and absolute discretion grant a refund for:
- Duplicate charges: Where Stripe has charged you twice for the same transaction due to a technical error.
- Service unavailability: Where a verified, prolonged platform outage prevented you from using any of your purchased credits and could not be resolved.
- Fraudulent charges: Where you can demonstrate that your payment method was used without authorization (in which case you should also contact your bank).
Discretionary refunds are not a right and are not guaranteed. We reserve the right to deny any refund request.
6.Chargebacks
If you initiate a chargeback or payment dispute with your bank or card issuer instead of contacting us first, we reserve the right to: (a) immediately suspend or terminate your account; (b) forfeit any remaining credits; and (c) pursue recovery of disputed amounts, chargeback fees, and any collection costs.
Please email support@topcoder.app before initiating a chargeback so we can resolve the issue directly.
7.How to Request a Refund
If you believe your situation falls within the narrow exceptions in Section 5, email support@topcoder.app within 7 days of the charge with:
- The email address associated with your account
- The Stripe receipt number or transaction ID
- A description of the issue and any supporting evidence
We aim to respond within 5 business days.
8.Changes to This Policy
We may update this Refund Policy from time to time. The version in effect at the time of your purchase governs that transaction. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
